Oakwood is part of Ford Farm’s Smoked Cheddar collection. This is a pure Cheddar carrying the much coveted PDO (Product of Designated Origin) status and made using milk from cows that are free to roam the farmhouse.

After the cheese is made, it is sent to a local traditional smokery where it is slowly smoked over natural oak chippings until it takes on a subtle oak-smoked flavour and develops a deep, burnished gold rind.

Oakwood looks the part on the cheeseboard and its full flavour is best brought out with a crisp Pinot Grigio or a sharp, tangy cider.

About Ford Farm Cheesemakers:

Ford Farm is located in the rolling Dorset Downs of Southwest England. It is one of the few remaining traditional farmhouse cheddar makers, using methods and recipes that date back many hundred years. They use the highest quality milk, sourced from local, free-range dairy herds. The cheddars are aged and graded regularly by in-house graders to check their progress, and released when they have achieved optimum flavour.
